Mid Century/Vintage 60's or 70's Bedroom made in Taiwan??
We have a set that looks like many of the trendy pieces from the 60's and 70's that are selling for pretty high prices now. I discovered in one of the drawers tonight what seems to read "Made in Taiwan" and then under that what I think reads "san yee". I can't read the top line but it appears to have a capital letter followed by 2 capital "C's". Can anyone give me any history on pieces made in Taiwan during that era and where I can find more information. I do not have a pic of it. All the drawers are dovetailed, the set is very solid, no MDF, simple lines & walnut veneer finish. It consists of queen head/footboard, night table w/1 drawer, 9 drawer dresser and 5 drawer highboy. I plan on selling it for $250 tomorrow and now worry that I've lowballed it - or maybe not? HELP!!
you probably low-balled it. furniture with dovetailed joints are a better quality furniture. If it is in fairly decent shape, someone is getting a good deal

A different reason that these chairs grow to be a part of family culture is what I call the "motion syndrome." We all know that most children enjoy some form of motion. This is why newborn babies fall asleep within the arms of their rocking mother and is also why youngsters of all ages fall quickly asleep in a moving vehicle. Becoming able to relax when rocking back and forth is some thing we discover from the pretty initial days of our existence. It carries on into our adulthoods and becomes a part of our innate nature within us. I think that this motion syndrome is what causes us to somehow put a child's rocking chair into the recesses of our minds as an icon of peacefulness. I would recommend properly crafted Vintage Mid Century which provides style and beauty your household deserves.
